Two Senior Fellowships in the humanities and social sciences - British School Rome
The British School at Rome is a centre of interdisciplinary research excellence in the Mediterranean supporting the full range of arts, humanities and social sciences. Our highly competitive and prestigious awards have provided many leading scholars with a sustained period for in-depth research in Rome.
Applications are invited for two Senior Fellowships in the humanities and social sciences, open to scholars who can demonstrate a need to be in Rome to undertake their research. The Fellowships are tenable for three months between late September 2021 and late September 2022 (late September-late December; January-March; April-June; and also July-late September). They offer membership of a vibrant multidisciplinary research community, a varied and international events programme, accommodation in our residence, food and 24-hour access to our historic library collection.
These Fellowships are open to established scholars, normally in post in a UK university. In addition to pursuing personal research that will contribute to one of the BSR's current research pathways, the Fellows are expected to take an interest in the work of other award-holders at the BSR, particular those in fields close to their own.
Further details (including eligibility criteria and full conditions) and application forms are available at
