Any project involving direct knowledge of at least one ancient language of the Mediterranean world (Egyptian, Greek, Latin, Semitic languages, etc.) and the methodological tools of at least two disciplines (history, literature, art history, archaeology and philosophy, as well as philology, epigraphy, papyrology, paleography or numismatics) constitutes a priority axis for the "Sciences of Antiquity" Initiative (ISAntiq).
Particular attention will be paid to co-supervised projects, especially with foreign partners.
Projects that do not require knowledge of an ancient language, but are based on approaches that cross disciplines within the humanities or that combine humanities and exact sciences (such as archaeology and chemistry, digital humanities or computation) may also be submitted.
PhD dissertations may be written in French or English.
Candidates are encouraged to contact their potential supervisors as soon as possible.
