Assistant Professor in Ancient Greek History (Teaching focus)

The Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham is looking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Ancient Greek History (Teaching focus). You will have a PhD in classics/ancient history, ability to teach ancient Greek history and ancient Greek language at all levels, and a strong commitment to the Department. You should be able to teach in the area of ancient Greek history of the fifth and fourth centuries B.C., as one requirement will be the delivery of a 2nd/3rd year module on Periklean Athens.
As an Assistant Professor you will be expected to:
- Deliver innovative teaching and curriculum design
- Provide curriculum leadership within your area
- Contribute positively and proactively to the department's teaching culture
- Supervise and examine undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Support tutorial groups, developing their knowledge and learning skills
- Take a proactive role in the pastoral support of students, dealing with sensitive issues
- Be responsible for administrative duties
