The School of History, Classics and Archaeology at Newcastle University seeks to appoint a fixed-term (1.0 FTE, 12 months) Lecturer in Ancient History (Teaching and Research), who will contribute to the teaching and supervision of students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
You will contribute to the delivery of research-informed modules on aspects of Ancient History, with a special focus on the history of the Roman Empire. Moreover, they will contribute to School-wide team-taught modules, and will undertake a range of pastoral and administrative responsibilities. This is a teaching and research position, with time built-in for the appointee to work on their own research projects.
Newcastle University has a long and distinguished reputation for research and teaching in Ancient History. It benefits from its unique position close to Hadrian's Wall, and can rely on the extensive collections of the Robinson University Library and the Great North Museum.
