About the role
The Faculty of Classics, in conjunction with Lincoln College, invites applications for a temporary Departmental Lectureship to cover the teaching and other duties of Professor Maria Stamatopoulou whilst she is on Leverhulme Major Research Leave. The postholder is expected primarily to engage in advanced study and research in any aspect of Classical Archaeology, and to lecture and teach both undergraduate and graduate students. You will also be expected to engage in examination assessment, admissions processes, and Faculty administration.
About you
You will hold a doctorate in an area related to Classical Archaeology and have a record of successful teaching within the field of appointment. You will have the ability to teach undergraduate students across a range of topics in Classical Archaeology and be able to teach at the graduate level. You will have the ability to undertake independent research in a relevant field, an ongoing programme of research and sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research projects. You will have the willingness to undertake the pastoral care of undergraduate and graduate students. You will also be able to work independently, to deadlines, and have good team-working as well as oral and written communication skills.
