Teaching Associate in Ancient Literature

£31,406 to £40,927 per annum (pro-rata) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate in Ancient Literature (Teaching and Learning focus). You will have a PhD in classics/ancient history, ability to teach ancient Greek and Latin literature and language at all levels, and a strong commitment to the Department.

You will contribute to an exceptional education for undergraduates and postgraduates in Ancient Literature and make an exceptional contribution to the Department's teaching profile and culture. You will contribute to the administration of the Department and be keen on championing and promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives.

As a Teaching Associate you will be expected to:

  *   deliver innovative teaching and curriculum design
  *   provide curriculum leadership within your area
  *   contribute positively and proactively to the Department's teaching culture
  *   supervise and examine Undergraduate and Postgraduate students
  *   support tutorial groups, developing their knowledge and learning skills
  *   take a proactive role in the pastoral support of students, dealing with sensitive issues
  *   be responsible for administrative duties

This post will be offered on a fixed-term, part time (29 hours per week) contract, commencing September 2022 until 30th June 2023. Job share arrangements may be considered.
