The Department of History at the University of Southampton has an excellent reputation for teaching and research, and you will become part of a dedicated team. This post is intended to strengthen the development of our Ancient History degree. You will have completed or be near to completing a PhD in Roman History or a related field and have teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Applications are especially encouraged from those whose interests include the political and social history of the Roman world, especially the era of the Roman Republic, and with a geographical coverage that includes Italy and North Africa. An ability to teach Greek and/or Latin would be highly advantageous.
