Assistant Professor of Instruction - Department of Classics, University of Texas at Austin

The Department of Classics at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction, to begin Fall semester 2023. We seek a dynamic, engaging, student-oriented teacher with a commitment to excellence in pedagogy. The position carries the possibility of annual renewal, contingent upon job performance, the continued needs of the department, and availability of program funding. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching three courses a semester, as well as some service depending on departmental needs.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Classics or related field. Preferred qualifications include experience working at a public R1 institution, experience teaching in or helping co-ordinate multi-year language sequences in both Latin and Greek, as well as experience teaching introductory classes in classical civilization and classical reception, both face to face and in large-scale asynchronous online formats.
