Applications are invited for a Specific purpose Contract appointment as Lecturer in Classics at University of Galway.
The successful applicant will be an employee of the University of Galway and will be appointed at the appropriate rate on the lecturer salary scale on Specific purpose Contract circa 3 years.
Classics at the University of Galway is part of the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. Additional information on the Discipline is available at: https://www.universityofgalway.ie/classics/
This appointment is related to cover a period of research related leave for a member of staff. Candidates will normally have a PhD in Classics, relevant prior teaching experience at Third Level, and some experience of administration, ideally in an academic context.
The successful candidate will be able to contribute to teaching at all levels (including Latin language and literature, and the Latin tradition) and to the wider culture of the discipline.

Salary:
€58,917 to €93,991 pro rata p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy)
