Full Time/Fixed-Term
Salary: £32,817 to £40,322 p.a.
Job Ref: 149089
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Endangered Archaeology in the Middle East and North Africa (EAMENA) project in the School of Archaeology at the University of Oxford. The position is part of a project funded by Arcadia.

The primary role of the Researcher will be the interpretation of satellite imagery and aerial photography for selected areas of the Middle East and North Africa (in particular Jordan, Palestine, and the Arabian peninsula); record creation and record enhancement for these areas using standard terminology in a specified database. A demonstrated track record working with ARCHES databases and GIS systems, including the EAMENA database and QGIS, is essential, as is familiarity with the archaeological record and satellite signatures of sites in the MENA region, in particular Jordan, Palestine, and the Arabian peninsula.
The successful applicant will be expected to be able to work independently to a high standard, and to collaborate with team members in Oxford and abroad.
