Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus - 7th Edition
The Individual Call is aimed at PhD holders of any nationality or stateless with a background in any scientific area who wish to develop their scientific research or technological development activity in Portugal.
The Portuguese R&D Funding Agency (FCT) has announced the launch of the seventh edition of the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus, facilitating the recruitment of 400 PhD holders across all scientific fields to work in Portugal.

The Centre for Classical Studies (CEC) at the University of Lisbon (https://centroclassicos.letras.ulisboa.pt/) is particularly keen to hear from interested candidates looking to develop research in the following areas:
* Classical Literature (Greek and Latin);
* Epigraphy (Roman, Medieval, Renaissance);
* Late Greek and Byzantine Literature;
* Medieval Latin (with a focus on, but not limited to, Iberian texts);
* Humanism and Neo-Latin (with a focus on, but not limited to, Iberian texts);
* History of Science (Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance);
* Europe and Asia (Latin and Neo-Latin texts related to Asia);
* Reception Studies (16th-21st centuries, with a focus on, but not limited to Portuguese-language Literature);
* Information Science (libraries, archives).
Additionally, we welcome proposals from scholars interested in exploring cutting-edge research in the following fields:
* Classics and Gender;
* Classics and Postcolonialism;
* Classics and Education.

Please note that the assessment of applications is managed entirely by FCT, with CEC serving solely as the Host Institution.

Research contracts under this call are for three years and are offered at two levels, depending on career stage:
* Junior Researcher: PhD holders with up to five years of postdoctoral experience in the relevant field;
* Assistant Researcher: PhD holders with significant experience in the relevant scientific domain.
