The Department of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Warwick is seeking to appoint an individual to a permanent post (subject to satisfactory completion of probation) in the Archaeology and History of the Ancient Mediterranean.
In research, you will be a specialist in aspects of the archaeology and history of the ancient Mediterranean. The successful candidate will be an active researcher with a proven track record in publishing in their field.

You will also have the opportunity to design your own undergraduate modules in the archaeology and history of the ancient Mediterranean and to contribute to our taught master’s programme in Ancient Visual and Material Culture.
We welcome applications from candidates who can further diversify our syllabus and cover areas of the ancient Mediterranean which we do not currently offer. You will be expected to supervise dissertations at undergraduate, master’s and doctoral level.
The Department has a dedicated Antiquities room in the new Faculty of Arts building housing our collection of ancient artefacts and coins, and the successful candidate will be involved in further developing this resource for both research and teaching.
You will undertake administrative roles within the Department as required, as well as pastoral duties.
