'Religious Temporalities and the Ancient City' Workshop
Call for Papers
The CRASIS network 'Time and Temporalities in the Ancient World' is hosting a two-day workshop in Groningen, 15-16 May 2025, on the topic of 'Religious Temporalities and the Ancient City', with guest speaker Prof dr Jörg Rüpke from the Max-Weber-Kolleg at the Universität Erfurt. The workshop aims to explore the complexities of perceptions of time through the lens of religion as fundamental to the ancient city and its various communities.
We welcome contributions from researchers at all stages, and especially encourage research masters and doctoral candidates to submit a proposal.

The workshop is organized together with the OIKOS research groups 'Cultural Interactions in the Ancient World' and 'Cities and Settlements in the Ancient World', and with the Groningen Institute for the Study of Culture (ICOG).
